This premiere episode of a seven-part series reexamines the infamous murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. In it, detectives investigate new evidence and a novel theory that could re-write history. Narratively, this episode includes a breadth of archival materials from before the time of the murders through the present day. As an editor, I had to fluidly distill complex information for the viewer in a way that is entertaining, economical, and progresses the storyline in a dramatic way. It is also important to respect the severity of the crime and give dignity to the deceased. Future episodes will benefit from the foundation set in this premiere episode.
This series became the highest rated series ever for the Discovery ID network when it premiered in 2016.
